Samsung Galaxy S9 - 10 Things Before Buying!

This is the Galaxy S9 in glorious lilac purple, it also comes in midnight black and Coral blue. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are official, they've got a pretty cool trick up their sleeve that impressed me. I got to go hands on with them. And these are 10 things to know before buying.
Samsung Galaxy S9 - 10 Things Before Buying!

So first up, and this may inherently disappoint some people out there, and that's the fact that the Galaxy S9 is not a redesign, but rather it takes everything that was good about the Galaxy S8 and even the things that were lacking and improves upon them in pretty much every possible way.

We still see that same beautiful 18.5 by nine infinity display, the Galaxy S9 sizes in at 5.8 inches, whereas the Galaxy S9 Plus is 6.2 inches. Now the big difference between the Galaxy S9 Plus and S9 aside from the screen size is going to be RAM and battery life. With the S9 Plus, you get six gigabytes versus four on the S9 and then with battery life, you're getting 3500 milliamp hours on the S9 Plus versus 3,000 on the S9. I realize those numbers might be slightly disappointing for some people out there, but the good news is, especially for those in the US, is the Snapdragon 845 inside these will not only lead to better performance but also better efficiency, which should translate to overall better battery life.

Now, the other giant difference between these two is going to be dual cameras in the S9 Plus. You get a wide angle and then a telephoto lens, very similar to what we saw in the Galaxy Note 8, versus the single shooter on the Galaxy S9. From that, number two, speaking of cameras, both the S9 Plus and S9 have a really cool trick up its sleeve, variable aperture. So the best way to imagine this is the camera on the Galaxy S9 essentially is going to react to light in a very similar way to how your eyes would. You're outside where it's super bright, effectively your eyes are letting less light in. And then you go inside where it's a little bit lower lighting situation, then your eyes adjust and let more light in. The same thing is happening here where the camera on the Galaxy S9 will adjust and adapt and effectively switch the F-stop from 2.4 down to 1.5. That lets a ton more light in and the crazy cool thing is you can actually see this happening. That, in turn, should lead to much better low-light performance.

Now, to clarify, because the whole variable aperture and dual cameras on the S9 Plus versus single camera on the S9 might be a little confusing. The way that works is both phones do get variable aperture, but the S9 Plus, that's going to be on its main wide angle lens, whereas the telephoto lens is only F/2.4.

Next from there, we're going to jump over to video. And the third thing to know is the Galaxy S9 can record super slow motion video up to 960 frames per second. What's really cool with this is the Galaxy S9 is smart enough to know and react when the motion happens, so you do not have to guess or react when that's happening to yourself. I got a chance to blow up some confetti, which of course looks way cooler in slow motion. Watching that back on the Galaxy S9, everything about this was all automatic. So there was no triggering, no reacting. It was simply pressing record. It knew when the confetti popped out, and we have this clip. From there, beyond just saving the video, you can turn it into a GIF. You could even turn it into your moving wallpaper if you wanted to.

The 960 FPS comes in at 720P, so it's not the highest resolution, but still pretty impressive, nonetheless. Beyond that, you can do 1080P at 240 frames per second or up to 4K at 60 frames per second. So there is a ton of video options on the Galaxy S9.

From there, number four, in a world where headphone jacks aren't that common anymore, where wireless charging still isn't a standard on every major flagship yet, the Galaxy S9 is packed full of the essentials. The headphone jack is still there. And I'm one to admit, I actually love and prefer wireless headphones, but to a lot of people, that headphone jack is a valuable and sacred commodity, and it is here on the Galaxy S9.

You have USBC, which in turn gives you quick charge 2.0, but you have the best of both worlds with fast wireless charging as well. MicroSD card expansion, and as of now, there are 400-gigabyte microSD cards, which will work in the Galaxy S9. Again, it's not new, but the Galaxy S9, of course, is water and dust-resistant. So these core features by themselves are not game-changers, but together, show that Samsung has done a really good job trying to accommodate to all kinds of users out there.

Next at number five, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus now feature front-facing stereo speakers. And if you've never had that on a smartphone, it is a beautiful thing. I got a chance to listen to this at the event. It was a little loud, a little noisy, so it wasn't the best environment to really form an opinion, but at the very least, you could still hear a really big difference between the Galaxy S9 and S8. From there, beyond the stereo speakers, there is now Dolby Atmos support. In talking to Samsung, again, their idea with this was the refinement process. With the Galaxy S8 and its infinity display, that kind of kicked off the ultimate viewing experience. With the Galaxy S9, that kind of takes that, rounds off the audio experience, so now you get the best of both worlds.

Next at number six, Samsung listened to everybody that complained about the terrible location of the fingerprint reader on the Galaxy S8 and moved it on the Galaxy S9. So no longer do you have to move your finger around in an awkward spot and kind of guess where it is to unlock your phone. Now, on the Galaxy S9, it is right below the camera, which is a much better location. With that, though, that means the fingerprint reader on the Galaxy S9 is still going to be the main form of security. You of course can unlock your phone with your eyes, but that's going to be an option as opposed to the main form of security like something on the iPhone X.

Next up at number seven, I'm not sure if AR Emoji is cool or creepy. What is AR Emoji, you ask? It takes a 2D image of your face and then maps over 100 different facial expressions and then translates that into this 3D image that reacts to your expressions. It's almost like Bitmoji and Animoji got smashed together, except just a little bit weirder. I will say weird or not, it is very responsive and works as advertised, so this is me moving my face around as an AR Emoji. You can pop in different backgrounds. You can save it as a GIF, as a picture, as a video. The possibilities seem to be endless. I will say I guess the potential advantages over Animoji is, one, you can record longer than 10 seconds, and two, you have way more customization. Either way, though, I'm not sure this is going to be the main or most attractive feature of why you'd want to buy a Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus.

Next up at number eight, Bixby is better than ever. Now, when I hear Bixby, to this day, I still can't not think of Bubsy Bobcat. I realize Bixby, especially that dedicated Bixby button, gets a lot of hate, but one feature that I thought was cool on the Galaxy S9 is the ability to instantly translate signs or different languages through the camera. Previously, you would need to take a picture in order to translate that text, but now, through AR, it is instant through the camera. And honestly, it works really good.

You can see if I turn the camera slightly off axis and then back, how fast the translation actually happens. So if you're out traveling, I could see this being really useful. Is this enough to warrant the praise and full-time use of Bixby or even being happy with that Bixby button? I'm not sure if I'm quite there yet. But still, it's nice to see some useful features coming to Bixby, especially on the Galaxy S9.

Now, next at number nine, along with the Galaxy S9 comes improved DeX experience. If you remember last year, I turned my Galaxy S8 into a desk setup because of DeX. That stands for Desktop Experience. Now it is better than ever with the Galaxy S9. It's actually more of an alternative as opposed to a replacement, so you still have the option to dock your DeX setup. But this is rather an option where you can place your Galaxy S9 down and then use that as a mouse and keyboard. So the touchscreen, kind of very similar to what we saw on Razer in the Project Linda, that's happening here with the Galaxy S9 where you can plug this into a display and then use that as your control.

So the idea with this is most places you're traveling to will probably have some sort of TV or monitor, and this allows you not to have to carry a keyboard or a mouse and kind of keep things lightweight. On top of that, with those performance improvements on the Galaxy S9, that's kind of where they showed off a gaming scenario plugged into a monitor. I'm not sure if I'm quite sold on the whole gaming plugged into a dock kind of thing with your smartphone. For me, I'd probably rather just stay on the smartphone itself, but either way, it's kind of cool to see Samsung staying on top of this.

So last up at number 10 is when you can buy the Galaxy S9, and to answer that shortly, pre-orders begin March 2. They will hit the stores March 16. So that is very, very close. Typically, Samsung announces their Galaxy S lineup in March. That in turn hits the stores in April. That's what we saw with the Galaxy 8. But this year, we're getting our hands on it just a little bit early. So with that, I would love to hear what you think of the Galaxy S9. Is it enough of an upgrade? What do you think of the colors? Are you team lilac purple, midnight black, or probably in my case, coral blue.

The Best Tech Gadgets Under $50 - April 2018

The best tech under $50, today I'm kicking it off with these: The Koss Portapro wired headphones, so it can be a little messy, but if you're looking for a wired pair of headphones, these are surprisingly good. Not going to lie, when I first took these out of the box, when they are nice and compacted, I thought they were kind of like baby headphones and I wasn't sure if they'd fit on my head because those look tiny. But once you extend them, you get them to their full potential, they actually fit surprisingly well. What I like about these is there are actually two comfort zones. There's a firm fit, and then a light fit. So if you want them to hug your ears, so you can get a really close listen to that sound, you can do that. Or if you want a more comfortable feel, switch it to light, and it's going to be much lighter on your ears.
Koss Portapro

Now I realize there are pretty much no phones out there right now that have a headphone jack, aside from the Galaxy S9, so we picked that up. Or if you have an older phone, or you rock your OnePlus, this might be the perfect partner in crime. And you're probably wondering about the sound quality, because these look so tiny, you wouldn't expect the amount of bass that comes out of these guys. They look old school, they kind of give off like the Stranger Things retro vibe, which I really love.

Honestly, they almost seem like the perfect combo for a Walkman or something like that, so if you dig that retro look, these are going to be perfect. And the more important thing is they sound good. Really good for the price, they're lightweight, they're not going to throw a ton of strain on your ears, and again, if you're looking for a wired pair of headphones, I would definitely check these out.

So next up is the cyber acoustic Shasta, USB microphone. I figure what better way to showcase how a microphone sounds than to use it for the video itself, What I like most about this is, assuming you have a computer, it's going to give you everything you need out of the box to get going. It's USB powered, it also sends the audio into your computer through USB, and you’ve got this nice fancy mic stand.
cyber acoustic Shasta

The one thing I will mention though, is most-likely from a distance, this thing looks like it's built really well, but it's not. It looks like it might be metal, but it's actually plastic all the way around. So in terms of durability, I'm not sure how long this is going to last long term, but for the price, this is a pretty fantastic value.

So whether you're a musician, or you jumped on the Fortnite train and you want to record and/or stream your gameplay, do yourself and everyone else around you a favor: don't yell into your computer mic. Grab something like cyber acoustic Shasta. It's not going to sound mind-blowing or absolutely amazing, but for the price, it does a damn good job.

Collab Time- when it comes to switch accessories under $50, my absolute favorite has got to be this battery shelf from on-tane. Now I love using my Switch in portable mode, and there's nothing more frustrating than when you start seeing that battery light blinking. So with the Collab Time, you're going to get over twice the playtime in handheld mode on a full charge. And while that alone is great, it has a couple other little extras as well. For instance, you've got this double kickstand set up that is way better than the one that's built into the Switch itself, and there's a little storage compartment here where you can put two extra games for when you're on the go, so you've got a couple options, especially if you don't have a case.
Collab Time

Speaking of cases, while this thing does add a little bit of bulk to the Switch, definitely, it's actually still just small enough that it's going to fit in most carrying cases, no problem whatsoever. This thing is an absolute must buy.

So next up, Supon is for those of you out there who shoot video. This is a crazy cheap but surprisingly awesome portable LED light that is currently under $40. Now I totally get it, it's super easy to get lost in fancy expensive gear, but I wanted to take a minute to showcase that you can still make something really awesome, especially with a light like this. Also, huge shout out to Andrew for coming up with this crazy dustpan diffusion contraption rig for the lights. It really showcases that you can do a lot with a little bit, and whether you use that or you do something as simple as pin up some diffusion paper or use an umbrella, those are all great examples of what you can do with some really inexpensive lighting.
supon LED light

Now what's cool with this light is that it's color temperature adjustable from 3300 Kelvin up to 5600. So actually, got it up there behind me, and this is at 3300 Kelvin, acting as a warm little accent light, or a "kicker" they might say in the business. And it really showcases that you can either use it A, as your main source and your key light as we saw before, or use it to kind of complement and add some flavor to your video. Overall, it's built really well, and the only down side, or my complaint with this is there's no power supply, and the included battery doesn't last that long. So either buy a second, or definitely add a power supply if you plan on shooting for extended periods of time.

So next up is this: an electronic candle, which sounds silly, but is actually awesome. It's better known as the Yeelight, which is a silly name, Right off the bat, what's awesome about this is that it's battery powered, so you're not stuck to a wall or to an outlet and the way you control it is either through rotating it, which is strangely satisfying.

It almost feels like you're a cave man making fire, or you can control it through an app through Bluetooth, which is awesome as well. So if you're on your couch, maybe you're in the bath, and you want to change how bright it is but you can't reach the candle, you can do that.

To get nerdy for a second though, this is actually rated at 1800 Kelvin, which is really really warm. So it gives this really orangy glow off, which I think looks amazing in the background. So if you shoot video, or you just want to add some ambience to your house, to your apartment, this thing is fairly inexpensive, it works on both Android or iOS, or if you just want to turn it yourself, that motion's probably going to get me demonetized. Either way, I would recommend this.

The State of Bezels!

There has been a lot of talk about notches lately. As it turns out, I'm working on my review of the Galaxy S9 one of those small changes to the S9 is those bezels, notches and bezel's are kind of the same thing. So let's talk about bezel.
The State of Bezels!

Smartphone have evolved a lot. Obviously, over the years, you may not think designs have a whole lot of drastic change. I mean, they're still kind of the same shape. Generally, but one thing has been consistently true and that is, you may have noticed that screens are now pushing closer and closer to those edges. Now obviously devices with screens have Bezels around those screens some Bezels are bigger than others. And there's this whole wide spectrum of different Bezels on different devices and different form factors thick and thin rounded or sharp we clearly used to not care about Bezels and like have the designs from 2005 2008 anytime before this modern movement seems like there used to be more bezel than screen but now we don't like them.

In 2018 and recent smartphone design has been all about how can we get rid of bezel, how can we shrink those Bez,els maximize our screen to body ratio. Can we get rid of bezel,  how? In theory, the answer is just get rid of everything that's still housed in those Bezels and then you can minimize the Bezels and we have the tech today to test that theory.

So side vessels, definitely easy, there's nothing that has to be in them. So pretty much anyone with a budget has pushed the screen all the way to the sides of the rails. Samsung even has what we call the Infinity display where they literally curve the glass over the side so there's no problem, but in a top and bottom bezel, the phones. There are some things that you'd have to get rid of any fingerprint sensor on the front. Got to get rid of that, the earpiece got to hide that, the front facing camera and any proximity sensor or ambient light sensor in any microphone. If we really want to end vessels and phones, if we really want to shrink the bezel to zero, then we have to find a place to put all of those things.

If we start with the microphones and the light sensors, those are actually pretty small. You can put the microphones on the top of the bottom of the phone and the light sensors, the proximity sensor does have to be on the front so you can put it up to your face and make a call and turn the screen off but the ambient light sensor again is so small, it can go almost anywhere so then there's the earpiece to make phone calls, where do you put that so we've seen various uses of this sometimes you kind of double the earpiece as a front facing speakers so you still want it to be pretty big. But when you don't you tend to be able to shrink it down or shuttered way up at the top of the phone or you can do it, we saw in the xaomi Mi MIX which is a piezoelectric speaker. This is not a super new technology, but we never really needed it in smartphones before since we always had room in the bezel, but a piezoelectric speaker actually vibrates the glass and frame of the phone so that it sounds just like an earpiece speaker when you put your ear up to it. It's surprisingly good so that lets you take the earpiece on the front, put it under the glass shrink the bezel, a little more.

Then there's a fingerprint sensor. This is a fun one. Since most phones have shrunk there bezel so much already that you don't have room for them at the bottom in that spot anymore. So they've moved to the sides and more commonly the back, that's fine, but a lot of times you still want to use it when it's flat on a desk. You want to be able to unlock your phone. So, you have the option of an in glass fingerprint reader. So one of my latest articles goes over a synaptic sensor that puts an optical fingerprint reader underneath the display glass for OLED displays so you can shrink the bezel, all the way to zero and still have a front facing fingerprint reader for unlocking your phone definitely worth checking that whole video out for roughly where that technology stands and how close we are to getting it and phones but so far so good.

So then the last thing is that front facing camera, the selfie camera can't get rid of it. But if you want to shrink the bezel to zero. You got to put that somewhere else. As of right now we don't have the technology to put a front facing camera underneath the display glass, although that would be really cool. So if you want to hide that you kind of got to get creative. This is the part where I wish I could hold up the vivo Apex concept phone and show you exactly how that works. But obviously don't have one. So I'm going to use some footage from other people who have seen it. So this is what it looks like when you successfully made every trade off. I just talked about in getting rid of everything that's normally housed in Bezels and putting them somewhere else. The light and proximity sensors are still in the tiny bottom bezel of the phone and at the top, so they still work. The earpiece is the piezoelectric speaker so it's vibrating the glass and you can hear it when you put your ear up to it, the fingerprint reader is a massive optical sensor in the middle of the display as underneath about a third of the glass and the front facing camera is actually on a motor that pops up in this little housing from the top of the phone when you turn it on. That is the length. They went to, to give us this bezeless phone or this concept every single one of these things was removed from the bezel. They use the flexible OLED display and curved all the drivers and underneath and that leaves you with this beautiful six inch bezeless screen, but it's a concept phone, this phone probably cost them a couple thousand dollars to make and was also extremely difficult for them to make and having motorized moving parts like that and smartphone is generally not good for durability and also waterproofing so there's a lot of little things don't really think about when it's a concept phone and it looks so great, but it just looks so great.

That brings us to the question of what can today's phone makers do in a reasonable budget with today's technology to get closer to bezel less. Well, today you can move the light sensors around you can move the fingerprint sensor to the back or even get rid of the fingerprint sensor entirely. You can shrink the earpiece or even get rid of it. If we're feeling daring, but pretty much everyone at this point realizes the front facing camera is like that last step, it's very important to a lot of people. So we aren't quite as ready to take as many risks with it. So that's how we got this whole notch situation where we really want to push the boundaries and go closer to bezel less and we shrink the top bezel on the side and the bottom, but we didn't really know where else to put the front facing camera so we just gave you the iphone X, in fact if you look back the essential phone got it all kicked off. They had the camera and the front facing ambient light sensor proximity sensor and then that little slit at the top is the earpiece and then of course we got all those front facing sensors in iPhone 10 and sure enough now there's rumors of LG G seven Neo doing the same thing, Asus zenfone 5Z, the rumored one plus six and probably many more to come.

If you're wondering how I feel about the notch this notch isn't the future. It isn't even a feature, it's just it represents this awkward middle stage between cell phone designs of the past and the bezel less that we want. When we figure out what to do with that front facing camera these notches are just kind of the best ideas designers are trying to come up with now for finding clever ways to keep a front facing camera but also shrink as much of the Bezels as possible.

At this point you can only really go like the Samsung way or the Apple way they've kind of coined their camps. The Samsung way is we don't want to notch. We're just going to shrink and keep the Bezels and just pack them as tight as possible on the top and bottom of the phone, but keep all the sensors, where they normally go better looking for sure. At this point, but it's more stable that way.
The iPhone way the apple way is more of its aggressive. It's uglier. But it's more pushing towards that bezel less future that we want when we finally figure out what to do with those front facing sensors. It's like when Apple just decided they wanted wireless audio to be the future and stopped putting a headphone jack in the phone. It's weird. And it's awkward at first, but it definitely moves us forward to that more seamless future, so starts as a big ugly notch. Now with our current technology but ideally next year shrinks a lot shrinks again and eventually when we get the technology to hide that camera and get rid of those sensors on the front completely it's gone.

As far as today's phones go I gave the essential phone my design and build award because it did the notch as best as we seem to be able to with today's technology. Like I said, it's shove the earpiece way up at the top and it has both the proximity sensor and ambient light sensor and the front facing camera all up in that tiny little notch in the center. So I think the next essential phone. Hopefully, there is one can keep basically the same design, just like shrink the chin even more and try to keep that top notch as tiny as possible, bigger screen maybe, tiny side Bezel's I'd be pretty pumped about that.

Basically, to summarize everything on our march towards that coveted hundred percent screen to body ratio towards these bezel less phones, we came up against this obstacle of the technology we have right now. That is, we can't hide all those sensors and that's what created this notch and if we're going to move past it is just like this little phase in the history of smartphones. We have to be optimistic about the technology that we saw and phones like that Apex phone.

I'm just pumped that there are people that are creative enough to push the boundaries in ways differently than just following the way that Apple in the central we're pushing the boundary to begin with. Hopefully it's just a face.

OPPO R15 hands-on

Most likely a large number of you have known about the OPPO mark, yet in the event that you believe it's the typical Chinese producer that lone makes low-end cell phones, you're off-base. The organization, which is a piece of the BBK aggregate that likewise incorporates Vivo (a brand you presumably don't have the foggiest idea) and OnePlus, divulged its new OPPO R15 in Standard and Pro forms (Dream Mirror Edition) to the world half a month prior. We traveled to Shenzhen to give it a shot and offer what we saw!

Huawei P20 Pro hands-on audit: the three-peered toward creature

Oppo R15 Pro plan and assemble quality

The OPPO R15 has a striking plan. What's more, not in view of what you'll discover on the front, which I'll examine in a matter of seconds, yet in addition its lovely shape. The cell phone is made out of an aluminum outline with a glass back and it feels completely incredible in your grasp, in spite of the way that it's not the most minimized gadget. The light impacts made by the exceptional craftsmanship on the back are unique and give the R15 a decent touch of inventiveness.

The stylish contrasts amongst R15 and R15 Pro are insignificant!

The R15 and R15 Pro plan (known as Dream Mirror Edition on Chinese soil) are separated by the back casing, which is level on the standard version and somewhat bended on the sides in the Pro release. Subsequently, the aluminum outline is likewise somewhat more slender in the Pro form, which takes into account the bend on the back.

The unique mark peruser is in the focal point of body, and OPPO has chosen to hold it on the back of the cell phone. There is no peruser coordinated into the show like on the Vivo X21, another cell phone that the sister organization introduced in the meantime.

The R15 Pro in dark artistic is more mysterious yet in addition more scratch-safe!

The R15 Pro is additionally accessible in an extraordinary release with fired back, in spite of the fact that I for one favor the look of the ordinary rendition and its appearance. The fired back does, be that as it may, feel significantly more pleasant than the glass, despite the fact that it doesn't render a similar sort of intelligent shading.

For what reason do cell phone hues need inventiveness?

90% show/surface proportion and the very scrutinized indent

You read that right. The Super-V show of the OPPO R15 covers 90% of the front surface and comprises of a 6.28-inch OLED board with Full top notch + determination (2280 x 1080 pixels) in a 19:9 proportion. The side edges have been diminished to an amazing 1.78 mm, however I'm certain nobody will see them as a result of the other prevalent element on the show: the indent at the best that houses the front camera and different sensors.

2018 is the year to love and despise the score

OPPO said they did some exploration: their clients incline toward the focal step over the corner camera.

Obviously, I likewise have a place the school of believed that lean towards a marginally more articulated edge and no indent (like on the Galaxy S9 and S9+), however I don't think the score is an irritating element. Call me idealistic, yet I see the score as an expansion of the show on the sides of the front camera, not as space stolen from the show for the camera and sensors.

The lower edge of the show is somewhat more articulated.

The show appeared to be more than persuading to us, yet our entire audit of the screen is still to come...

OPPO R15 has touched base to the market with Android 8.1 Oreo, which is an alleviation since cell phones with SoC Mediatek are generally not renowned for having the most recent rendition of a working framework. Not every one of them are roses and blooms, nonetheless: the product is emphatically customized by the organization under the name of ColorOS 5.0, and from what I could advise, it has an extremely Chinese style. This implies no application cabinet (like Flyme, MIUI and EMUI) and a solid inclination to conjure the UI of iOS.

Android Oreo 8.1 comes as extraordinary news.

As a matter of course, a signal route framework is actuated in the style of iPhone X and Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 (which was motivated by Apple and refreshed in like manner). Luckily, you can kill this capacity and utilize the work of art and surely understood route bar with the Home, Back and Recent catches.

ColorOS is plainly roused by different cell phones...

The alternative to pick a SoC comes as an incredible alleviation

In the event that the processor influences you to pay some dues, the phone has given us some thought for this situation: the Pro variation (Dream Mirror Edition) utilizes a Qualcomm Snapdragon. It's dependent upon you to pick on the off chance that you need to utilize it.

The two forms include 6GB of irregular access memory and 128GB of inner storage that can still further be extended by means of a MicroSD up to 256GB. Oppo R15 has dual SIM usefulness through the means of opening a half, in order for you to pick whether to use a SIM at the moment or utilize a memory development card.

The light impacts from the purple shading are extremely hard to catch in a photograph.

The new device battery is 3,450 mAh and highlights quick charging by means of a miniaturized scale USB post. The company also guarantees that with 5 minutes of charging, you'll enjoy two hours of telephone calls, and obviously we shall test this tech innovation in our full review. The phone battery loses a sum of 50mAh, however that is surely not a generous contrast. We anticipate that the two gadgets will perform likewise in day by day utilize.

Power Delivery, Quick Charge and that's just the beginning: the clash of the quick charging measures

No USB Type-C, what a disgrace.

Enhanced photographs on account of counterfeit shrewd

The principle camera of the OPPO R15 has 16 megapixels. The sensor is a Sony IMX519 with a size of 1/2.6" and 1.22μm pixels. Its focal points have a central opening of f/17. The second back camera is 5 megapixels and has an opening of f/2.2 on the R15 and 20 megapixels and a gap of f/1.7 on the R15 Pro. There's no optical adjustment, yet there is an electronic adjustment to moderate shaking when you take photographs.

The optional camera on the R15 Pro is unquestionably better!

The front camera is a 20 megapixel f/2.0 and is upheld by computerized reasoning that can perceive 296 focuses all over. AI is additionally utilized as a part of the fundamental camera: the cell phone can perceive 16 distinct scenes (and 120 mixes of these scenes) and modify settings appropriately to improve your photographs that much.

Its cost in China makes it an extremely alluring buy, particularly the Pro form in artistic. Obviously, we'll test the cell phone deliberately to give a more inside and out evaluation of its execution, programming and camera. So stay tuned for our far reaching audit!

The organization as of late reported the third cell phone in the S-Series, the Gionee S6 Plus. As indicated by reports, another gadget from the arrangement, Gionee S6 Pro will soon be accessible in the market. The organization had propelled Gionee S6 not long ago and now is enhancing the forerunner.

Gionee S6s Front Home Screen

The organization is promoting the gadgets for the shoppers who need to show signs of improvement selfies and has touted the "selfie streak" in its showcasing effort. I have never utilized Gionee cell phones, and the Gionee S6s is the main involvement with Gionee gadgets for me. Shockingly, the experience has been better than average aside from a couple of things that are definite in the audit.

Construct and Design: 7/10

Gionee S6s has not changed much with respect to the outline and the construct quality from the Gionee S6 prior this year. The outline, be that as it may, feels unsuitable and exhausting. Aside from the two selections of hues, Mocha Gold and Latte Gold, there is nothing that influences the gadget to emerge from the group.

Gionee S6s Front base USB port

The gadget feels premium and tough close by with no squeaking or free parts. The front brags a 5.5-inch 2.5D bended show with the route delicate catches on the base and the speaker, front light emitting diode -Flash and camera sitting on the best.

Gionee S6s Back

The back of the gadget is full metal with a plastic casing as an afterthought. There is a silver covering done on the plastic edge to give it a more chief and cleaned look. The unique finger impression peruser sits on the back beneath the camera and LED-streak module.

Gionee S6s Back Finger Print scanner

The most recent Gionee logo sits underneath the unique finger impression sensor at the back, recognizing the telephone from all the likewise composed cell phones. The gadget feels somewhat cumbersome in the hand, however this mass and weight gives it that tough feeling.

Gionee S6s Back Side catches

There is a moment speaker barbecue at the back of the gadget and sits on the lower segment of the cell phone. The organization has incorporated a 'Gionee' marking notwithstanding the current logo at the back, appropriate about the speaker barbecue.

Gionee S6s base USB port

The base side of the telephone houses a microUSB port for charging and record move notwithstanding a mouthpiece and the 3.5-mm earphone jack to tune in to music. The left half of the gadget does not have any catches except for the double SIM plate while the correct side houses the power catch around at the focal point of the body and a volume rocker on the upper side of the gadget.

Highlights: 6.5/10

The most recent cell phone by the organization is furnished with an octa-center MediaTek processor which depends on the 28 nm process timed at 1.3GHz. The gadget keeps running on 3GB random access memory and touts 32GB inward stockpiling. The telephone additionally bolsters a microSD card utilizing the second SIM opening to help up to 256GB of expandable stockpiling. Mali-graphic processing unit is utilized and you get a 5.5-inch IPS liquid crystal display capacitive bended screen at 401 PPI pixel thickness. The screen is secured with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Gionee S6s Front Close-up

The gadget wears a 13MP back camera with f/2.0 opening and stage discovery self-adjust camera to shoot pictures alongside light emitting diode -streak with a 8MP camera module with f/2.2 gap and light emitting diode -Flash at the front. The back camera bolsters video recording at 1080p with 30fps. The unique mark sensor is incorporated on the posterior of the gadget, and it goes about as the screen catch while clicking photographs utilizing both the front and also the back camera modules.

Gionee S6s Back Bottom Speaker Grill

The gadget is outfitted with 4G-empowered Dual-SIM plate with help for both smaller scale and nano SIM cards notwithstanding, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, A2DP, Hotspot, GPS, FM radio with A-GPS and miniaturized scale USB port supporting USB 2.0 in regards to availability choices. The gadget does not accompany a USB Type-C and is outfitted with 3150mAh Li-particle battery which can't be expelled. S6s is furnished with a unique mark, accelerometer, vicinity and compass sensors.

Show: 7/10

Gionee S6s accompanies a Full-high definition 5.5-inch IPS liquid crystal display giving a successful determination of 1080x1920 pixels. The screen is ensured with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covering to avert harm to the front screen and gloats 401 PPI pixel thickness for fresh differentiation and hues.

Gionee S6s Front Google Apps

The show held up inside, giving extraordinary dynamic shading generation, diverge from outstanding survey points. In any case, the IPS liquid crystal display board endures under direct daylight when joined with exceedingly intelligent screen even with shine wrenched up to the most extreme. Watching recordings and playing diversions was a decent affair inside while outside it was a battle. The screen is a unique finger impression magnet amid regular utilize, and I needed to always tidy it up to appreciate the energetic show offered by the gadget.

Programming: 6.5/10

The gadget runs amigo 3.2.0 out of the container which is an Android fork utilized by the organization to control its cell phones. amigo 3.2.0 depends on Android 6.0 with June 1, 2016, Android security fix level. The general programming knowledge was commendable despite the fact that there is no chance to get for the clients to swing to an entire stock affair in view of the cleaned user interface. The most extreme a client can do is change to an alternate launcher to encounter the stock user interface, yet that won't change settings menu. One issue that I at first confronted was the outsider feeling originating from stock Android, it took me 10 minutes of seeking around and utilizing the hunt capacity to discover the Battery area in settings. Out-of-the crate battery design does not give any data in regards to the battery rate and deplete which is odd.

Gionee S6s Lock Screen, Home Screen

There is no application cabinet in amigo OS, and the bolt screen continues changing backdrops naturally at a settled interim of time. Notwithstanding exchanging backdrops, the OS gives extra data identified with the backdrop like the Bing internet searcher landing page, yet tapping on more subtle elements takes you to the Facebook display curated by the organization with the extra data identifying with each backdrop. You can swipe left and ideal on the bolt screen to change the backdrops. A setting menu on the lower left side gives you a choice to spare, buy in, share, erase or bolt the present backdrop.

Gionee S6s amigo OS

amigo 3.2.0 boats with preloaded applications that incorporate Google applications, worked in music and video players, exhibition, a video editorial manager notwithstanding most loved applications and diversions. The preloaded applications incorporate Truecaller, SwiftKey, UC program, Facebook, Xender, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and the diversions incorporate Buble Bash 3, Asphalt Nitro, Danger Dash, Ultimate Pro Demo of Spider-Man.

The organization has preloaded the gadget with System Manager, Theme Park, Child Mode, Mood Wallpaper, Abroad Service and GStore. Additionally, Gionee has included Mobile against burglary application, Charmeleon,File Explorer, Notes, Torch, User Feedback application, Weather and Calendar application to S6s. One thing that I saw was that the majority of the Gionee preloaded applications couldn't be expelled, which is a significant bummer for the client taking a gander at a more slender storage room.

The notice zone is open by swiping down from the best, however the snappy flip has been changed and now can be gotten to by swiping to top from the base. This imitates the speedy flip territory usage in iOS and presents clients with eight choices and a slider to modify the brilliance. There is a 'More' catch which dispatches a full-screen flip interface with 16 flip choices to browse.

The System Manager application incorporated into amigo 3.2.0 gives you choices to clean store and oversee battery utilizing the power supervisor, oversee introduced applications utilizing application chief, check movement utilizing Traffic screen and a different Eco Mode. Likewise, the application additionally gives you an alternative to 'clean memory' which works in the same was as the 'application cleaner' in the multitasking mode. The Theme Park has excessively numerous topics to look over, yet I didn't discover them to my preferring while the 'Inclination Wallpaper' application works like a backdrop showcase.

GStore is a commercial center to introduce applications curated by the organization, yet I don't comprehend the reason for this application to be packaged with the gadget alongside Google Play Store. Tyke mode limits applications that can be propelled without a password to keep kids from messing around with the cell phone. Abroad Service enables clients to design excursions and Travel and the usefulness is reflected by the as of late propelled Google Trips.

Execution: 7/10

Gionee S6s was palatable, best case scenario amid the everyday use. The gadget is fueled by a MediaTek processor and is adequate for typical utilization, however overwhelming use pulls the gadget down with respect to battery reinforcement.

Broadened gaming session made the gadget relatively horrendous to hold around the upper bit at the back. There was a touch of slack while playing graphically serious Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 and the gadget began warming following 4-5 minutes of gaming. Less GPU concentrated diversions like Fruit Ninja and Temple Run 2 did not encounter any slack.

The majority of the warmth was thought around the light emitting diode blaze and Camera module with temperatures achieving 65-degrees Celsius while the lower half of the back was cool with an agreeable 28-degree celsius.

The gadget scored 2464 in Multi-Core benchmark test with GeekBench 4 and 603 in Single-Core Score, in examination, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 scored 2602 and 1427 in the individual benchmarks. It scored 4108 in PCMark Work execution benchmark making it a conventional gadget to work with yet nothing strange.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime

Recent months have not been the best for Samsung Mobiles with the whole Samsung Galaxy Note 7 disaster. The organization was compelled to review the leader gadget and the "sheltered" Galaxy Note 7 gadgets had the same detonating battery issues which influenced the organization to suspend Note 7. In any case, things are greatly improved in the mid-go segment for the organization. It declared the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime in August this year and discharged the cell phone in September for the customers to purchase the cell phone.

The whole course of events of Note 7 issue overshadowed the declaration and entry of Galaxy J7 Prime in the market and it has been grievous for the gadget. Be that as it may, let us see what the Galaxy J7 Prime has on offer

Fabricate and Design: 6/10

The Samsung phone accompanies a similar old customary Samsung outline with adjusted corners. There is no deviation from the outline rationality, and it can be confused for some other Samsung cell phone. Abuse of a similar plan has made Samsung mid-spending plan cell phones dull and uninteresting from the outline point of view.

Cosmic system J7 Prime games a plastic expand on the front with a non-removable metal back with plastic best and base edges. In spite of the plastic front, best and base, the cell phone amazed me with its durable form quality. There were no free or squeaky parts and the gadget felt strong regardless of being a mid-run cell phone.

The best zone on the front houses the nearness sensor, front camera and the earpiece speaker. The base territory houses the "Recents" catch on the left, "Home" catch in the center which incorporates the unique mark sensor to rapidly open the cell phone and a "Back" catch on the right. The catches are not illuminated and have symbols engraved which evacuate the likelihood of reinventing them.

The gadget brandishes a power catch on the best at the correct side and volume up and volume down catches on the left half of the cell phone. Moreover, Galaxy J7 Prime incorporates the essential SIM space in the center bit of the left half of the gadget with the base part including a different opening for second SIM and microSD card.

The organization has named the SIM openings for simpler comprehension of which space is the essential space.

Highlights: 6/10

The Galaxy J7 Prime comes furnished with the comapany owned  Exynos 7870 processor which has an octa-center processor alongside Mali-T830MP2 Graphic processing unit. The cell phone is furnished with 3GB random access memory and packs 16GB inward stockpiling alongside a committed microSD opening to extend the capacity up to 256GB. Likewise, it brandishes a 5.5-inch Full high definition liquid-crystal display IPS show secured by Corning Gorilla Glass in plain view.

Universe J7 Prime joins a 13MP camera sensor, self-adjust and light emitting diode streak on the back and a 8MP forward looking camera for selfies. It can catch up to 1080p Full high definition recordings.

The cell phone offers various alternatives in regards to network choices, going from GLONASS, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi Direct, BDS, and microUSB v2.0 port with USB On-The-Go bolster, 3.5mm earphone jack and FM Radio help alongside double nano SIM card openings. The gadget underpins unique mark scanner, accelerometer and closeness sensors.

Show: 7/10

The J7 Prime has a 5.5-inch Full high definition show with a compelling determination of 1080 x 1920 pixels with 401ppi pixel thickness. The show has an IPS light emitting diode board which may not flabbergast on paper, but rather the show appears to be better in everyday utilization. The screen is exceptionally intelligent and you may need to change your introduction when outside, to dispense with the immediate reflection from the sun or some other direct wellspring of light.

The liquid-crystal display IPS show gives respectable survey edges notwithstanding appearing somewhat diminish with respect to splendor when seen from sides. In any case, general, I enjoyed myself while perusing, web perusing, gaming or watching recordings in plain view. The hues, differentiation and liveliness of the screen was genuinely conventional consistently.

Samsung has included an "Open air" choice in shine settings to enhance the perceivability of the substance on screen when outside. When you switch the alternative on, it wrenches the brilliance of the screen to a level higher than the one offered by Maximum splendor offered under "Show" settings. Samsung gives you the alternative to change the Font style and size framework wide under "Show Settings" alongside a "Subjects" segment to change the default topic of the cell phone.

Programming: 7/10

The Galaxy J7 Prime accompanies Android operating system 6 Marshmallow. The company has not made much changes as regarding the product division when contrasted with different cell phones at its domain. In any case, one major thing to take note is that I got double updates from the company amid my audit which is great for a mid-run gadget.

The organization has continued fascinating addons like Easy Mode and FM Radio with recording, alongside the reconciliation of Flipboard to ensure that clients get highlights that are progressively overlooked by Smartphone organizations everywhere throughout the world.

The product did not emerge, but rather additionally did not add to drowsiness or slack. Despite the fact that the whole bundle is somewhat dated now and may appear to need consistency, regardless it completes the work.

Brilliant Manager and Galaxy Apps are two things that you won't discover in some other cell phone with Galaxy Apps being a homegrown application store that Samsung is attempting to push to clients since numerous years. Keen Manager, then again gives you a chance to do assignments, for example, cleaning garbage, enhancing random access memory, checking battery life et cetera.

Execution: 7/10

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime performed respectably well, with no indication of slack for the term of the survey. The general user interface movements by Samsung were not moment but rather more continuous. This might be think endeavor by the organization to ensure that clients don't identify the faltering and gradualness in the movements.

Something else, Exynos 7870 combined with 3GB random access memory dashed through every one of the assignments, music, gaming, web perusing and photograph altering. The call nature of the gadget was great with an average measure of sound and clearness. The amplifier alternative amid calls had satisfactory sound for a gathering to effectively take an interest in the call.

One thing to note is that the execution of Fingerprint sensor was moderate and incorrect now and again. In some cases the sensor neglected to perceive the fingerprints and different circumstances brought up that there was no match. It here and there enrolled the erroneous fingerprints 4-5 times, incidentally bolting the client out for 30 seconds. Indeed, even with redress finger introduction, there was nothing stunning about the sensor and the time from putting the finger on the sensor to opened home screen fluctuated from 0.8 seconds to 1.4 seconds.

Samsung J7 Prime PCMark

The cell phone scored 4647 in the PCMark 'Work execution 1.0' benchmark alongside scoring 669 in Single-Core and 3160 in Multi-Core benchmarks in Geekbench 4. Universe J7 Prime shockingly did not warm up extensively amid broadened gaming sessions and held honorably to overwhelming diversions like DeadTrigger 2, Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8. The temperature of the gadget reached 42-degree Celsius amid gaming, yet it was in a little region and did not warm up the whole gadget.

Samsung J7 Prime GeekBench

It scored 6855, 5102 and 8489 in IceStorm, IceStorm Extreme and IceStorm Unlimited benchmarks individually.

Camera: 6/10

The camera has dependably been the Achilles heel for mid-run gadgets offered by Samsung. In spite of the 13MP sensor, the back camera on the gadget is terrible. The photographs are respectable given tolerable lighting conditions and plunge to foggy wreckage in under perfect conditions. The front camera is no rest and conveys hazy and shoddy photos.

Samsung J7 Prime

Low light shots are simply agonizing and loaded with commotion and chromatic distortions. The organization needs to enhance the camera encounter offered in its Mid-run gadgets notwithstanding the magnificent quality offered in its leader gadgets.

Samsung J7 Prime Camera

The camera application provides distinctive modes like Panorama, Auto, Pro, HDR Rich Tone, Continuous shot, Night Mode, Sports, Sound and Shot and Beauty face. Be that as it may, Samsung do little to enhance the general camera encounter. One interesting thing to take note in "Star" effect of the phone is that it gives you a chance to change the Compensation exposure of the phone, ISO affectability and White Balance of the camera with no choices to control the screen speed. The "Sound and Shot" mode works like live photos without the 'live' photo part and as opposed to adding a sound clasp to a still shot.

Battery: 8/10

The Galaxy J7 Prime accompanies a 3300mAh battery and the battery life is presumably the solid purpose of the gadget. Amid my broad testing, the cell phone performed commendably well. The battery endured barely 6 hours amid my ordinary day which comprises of continually being associated with the web through Instagram, Wi-Fi, WhatsApp , Facebook, for the duration of the day notwithstanding 41-51 minutes of music, 36-41 minutes of playing games and introducing and testing new applications.

J7 prime kept going 9 hours and 59 minutes in PCMark 'Work battery life 1.0' which is a serious test. Things like the presentation of Power sparing mode and Ultra power sparing mode additionally expand the battery life.

The cell phone likewise offers to hold battery for calls, and you can set the preservation mode to kick in once the battery drops to a specific rate. Despite the fact that the execution drops once the Power sparing mode is enacted, still the reality remains that I would much rather utilize my cell phone in a diminished execution state instead of a dead cell phone.

Samsung J7 Prime

Be that as it may, two noteworthy things missing in the offering are the USB Type-C port and quick charging. It is relatively criminal for individuals to sit tight for two hours to sit tight for their cell phone to be charged from 0 percent to 100 percent, in 2016.

Decision and Price in India

Samsung J7 Prime is a decent cell phone. Yet, in spite of the nice endeavor, it is highly unlikely that I would propose this cell phone to anybody, at its Rs 19,710 cost tag. I could never pay this much cash for a cell phone that is sub-par in outline and does not have key fundamentals like great camera and quick charging.

There are greatly improved offerings in this value class as far as crude execution, camera quality and plan. The Exynos 7870 offers execution numbers in an indistinguishable range from a Snapdragon or something like that. Be that as it may, now, you get Snapdragon 820 wearing cell phones in the Rs 20k value go. As a contrasting option to the Galaxy J7 Prime, you could at the Lenovo Z2 Plus which desires Rs 20,000. In the event that you can broaden your financial plan, you can get the Xiaomi Mi 5 also. On the off chance that you are enthusiastic about the Galaxy J7 Prime, at that point I would recommend holding up till it gets a value drop nearer to the Rs 14,999 territory.
